Carriers for back pain or a heavy toddler
This is not medical advice, and it is not a comfort test. Nobody on this site has measured anyone’s back. If pain is new, severe, or follows a birth injury, talk to a clinician. We have not reviewed guidance for that case.
Ticking back or shoulder pain does not remove a carrier when the maker is silent about it. It adds 4 points only when a sourced statement says the carrier suited someone’s back or shoulders. The result line is “Maker says suitable”, “Independent review says…”, with a link, or “No information found”. Carrier type does not add those points.
A heavier child is separate. If the age band is 2–4 years, or the weight you enter is at least 12 kg, a checked maximum of 18 kg or more adds 6 points. A maximum of at least 15 kg adds 3. The sentence on the result uses the maker’s own range, not a converted number we invented.
Different-sized carers, hot climate, and after a C-section follow the same comfort rule. A missing statement does not remove the carrier.
