Safety

CarryHearth is not a safety lab and not a doctor. These notes are the statements we have sourced. A carrier page repeats the short T.I.C.K.S. list. It does not mean that model has been recalled-checked or hip-tested by us.

Standards we have not verified, and so do not explain here, include 16 CFR carrier rules, the Italian UNI 11736 standard, and EN 13209-1. Whether EN 13209-2 is voluntary under the GPSR was also not checked.

T.I.C.K.S.

Tight. In view at all times. Close enough to kiss. Keep chin off the chest. Supported back. These five checks are the UK Sling Consortium T.I.C.K.S. list. The NHS baby-safety page also points people to sling safety.

Premature or low birth weight

NCT and RoSPA both say to talk to a health professional first if the baby was premature or had a low birth weight.

IHDI is not a certifier

IHDI says it is not a certifying body and has never safety-tested products. Its page lists industry partners. That list is not a certification.

Hip dysplasia and carriers

IHDI's consensus statement says no baby carrier can cause or prevent hip dysplasia. The same guidance treats tight swaddling and restricting hip motion as the risk. A useful position to learn is the M-position: knees above the bottom, thighs supported from knee to knee.

EN 13209-2

EN 13209-2 covers EU soft carriers with integral leg openings, with a maximum of 15 kg. Some makers state a higher weight limit. We show the maker's limit and do not decide which figure overrides the other. Whether this standard is voluntary under the GPSR was not checked.

CEN/TR 16512

Didymos cites CEN/TR 16512 on the DidyKlick page. The text of that report was not checked.

US recall feed

The US CPSC publishes a public recall API. A weekly check can search it. This version has not reviewed that feed for each carrier in the catalogue.

US FTC guidance says a paid relationship should be clear and close to the link. A visible paid-link label is an acceptable approach. No affiliate links are connected in this version.
