Stretchy wrap, woven wrap, or ring sling

The difference is the cloth and how you put it on. None of these paragraphs is a score. The finder can rank the models after you add a country, an age, and a budget.

Slings and wraps are a different ASTM standard (F2907) from buckle carriers (F2236). EN 13209-2 covers EU soft carriers with leg openings, up to 15 kg in the standard we checked. A maker may print a higher limit. We show the maker’s figure and do not decide which one wins. Details are on the safety page.

Stretchy wrap

Usually one long stretchy piece. People often learn one carry and pre-tie it. The useful window is the small-baby months, and the maker’s maximum weight is the limit we can show. ASTM F2907 is the US sling standard. We do not claim a wrap meets it unless that model’s page says so.

Woven wrap

A cloth with little stretch. It is sized, and the carries take practice. It is the type people keep using after a stretchy wrap stops feeling supportive. If a woven row in our notes was never verified, it is not in this list.

Ring sling

One shoulder, two rings, and a tail of fabric. It is fast for up-and-down carrying once the rings are tight enough. The weight sits on one shoulder, which some people want for short carries and some people do not want at all.

For buckles, half-buckles, and hip seats, see which type is right.

About your baby

Weight is optional. “Help me choose” is a fine default.

Why these can stay open

Leave the weight blank if you do not know it. A weight outside 0.5–40 kg is ignored. The points for age, weight, and type are on How we rank.
